EFSA is finalising its scientific advice on the nutrients and non-nutrient food components. The opinion seeks to advice policy makers on the future front-of-pack label composition.

Both excessive and inadequate intakes are being considered with calcium, vitamin D or iodine mentioned on the inadequate intake side.

This document provides scientific advice on:

• nutrients and non-nutrient components of food which are of public health importance for European populations,
• food groups which have important roles in diets of European populations and subgroups thereof and
• the choice of nutrients and non-nutrient components of food for nutrient profiling.

The public consultation remains open till 9 Jan 2022, should you wish to add your comments.
