ALS has put together some general packages with common parameters. However it is often that our pick and choose list is more applicable and clients can make their own selection. The Water Frame Directive represents the second part of our services, where ALS Environmental brings added value to clients. Methods implemented in ALS laboratories are set up to meet the specific measures for pollution control and environmental quality standards (EQS). BASE-LINE STUDIES

ALS has performed several so-called base-line studies. While some projects have been set-up to assess background levels in pristine areas such as the Arctic, other studies have been performed to assess the environmental impact from building and consequent operation of, for example, nuclear reactors. Typical parameters in such projects are metals, isotope ratios and POP’s such as PFOS (perfluorooctane sulfonate or perfluorooctanesulfonic acid), PBDE (polybrominated biphenyl ethers) and others.
